Atticus

Atticus has a birthday coming up, his 17th! For the last 5 years, Atticus has been coming to see us here at South Hyland. He has a zest for life, which is very evident during his daily regimen of medications and treatments. Atticus has inflammatory bowel disease that allows him a sophisticated diet of duck and green peas. He's not complaining!

Atticus doesn't make it outdoors, but his owners give him a breath of fresh air through an inhaler to help him with his asthma. Other treatments include medications for his arthritis and fluids under his skin to keep his kidneys happy.

With all of this going on, Atticus is still able to enjoy himself. He has a special cupboard at home he likes to curl up in any chance he gets. Thanks to his wonderful and loving owners, Pam Smith and Peter Sausen, Atticus has been able to live a good life.
