Percy

Say hello to Percy, a ten-year-old domestic long hair male cat, who has won the hearts of our clinic staff. Percy was presented to South Hyland Pet Hospital for matted fur and a strong odor from his rear end. Routine senior blood testing revealed that Percy had Diabetes. Unfortunately Percy's owner felt he would be unable to care for a diabetic cat due to his schedule. However, we were able to offer to find a home for Percy or see if he would adapt to clinic life.

Percy's diabetes came under control fairly quickly with twice-daily insulin injections and a change to Purina Prescription diet DM that is specially formulated for diabetic cats. He now has free roam of the clinic but most often is found napping in a sunny chair in the doctor's office. He is living proof of the old adage: "If you want the best seat in the house, move the cat!" We hope as Percy continues to adjust to clinic life he may start spending some time in the reception area as well. Welcome Percy!
