Veterinary Technicians

teresa

Teresa became a certified veterinary technician after graduating from Argosy University with an Associate's Degree in Applied Science in June of 2003. She became a full time employee shortly after completing her internship with South Hyland during the spring of 2003.

Teresa is in charge of Lab Machine Maintenance and Quality Control. She is also the OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) Coordinator. Teresa is a member of the Minnesota Association of Veterinary Technicians (MAVT) and the Society of Behavior Technicians (SVBT). She is the kitten class instructor and has special interests in animal behavior and dentistry. She has also implemented a weight loss program for overweight pets.

Teresa spends her free time with her family that includes her husband, Maurice; daughter, Kiara; and step-sons, Darian, D'Angelo and Shanin. Her four-legged children include a black Lab, Rufus; a Bengal cat, Manja; and two orange and white Domestic Shorthaired twin cats, Kiki and Fitty.



Tara

A Certified Veterinary Technician, Tara graduated from Ridgewater College where she was awarded her Associate's Degree in Applied Sciences in 2002. She worked at the Mayo Clinic as an Animal Research Technician and is originally from Spring Valley, MN.

Tara has been with South Hyland Pet Hospital since the spring of 2004. She is the radiation safety officer and is working on becoming a certified dog trainer. She is a member of the Minnesota Association of Veterinary Technicians (MAVT) and has a special interest in animal behavior. Tara is the puppy class instructor and also does individual consults for behavior problems. She has also implemented a weight loss program for overweight pets.

Tara enjoys spending time with her husband Jason, boating, walking and visiting with her family. Their pets include two dogs, Izzy and Sawyer, and two cats, Ivy (“Miss Kitty”) and Hogan.



Amber

Certified veterinary technician Amber hails from South Dakota and has more than five years experience in the animal care field. Amber attended Ridgewater College and received an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology. Amber loves working with animals and her professional interests include animal dentistry and internal parasites.

In her spare time, Amber enjoys spending time with her husband, Troy and her two children, Paige and Alec, and her two cats, Phil and Jewel. Her hobbies include cooking, entertaining, camping and gardening.
